German General Anton Dostler

Dostler's body immediately after the rounds of the firing squad have struck. German General Anton Dostler was sentenced to die because he had ordered the execution of 15 uniformed U.S. commandos in Italy. He was the first German general to be executed by a U.S. Army firing squad on December 1, 1945.
