In Midland, Texas, 1963, Laura Bush--then Laura Welch--ran a stop sign and crashed into another car, killing her 17-year-old classmate Mike Douglas, who had the right of way. Although Laura Bush was likely criminally negligent (i.e., that she may have been drinking) at the time of the crash, no charges were ever filed against her.
