Stella Thomas and Dr Harold Moody(founder League of Coloured People) - London 1931

Stella Thomas(1906- 1974) was born in Lagos to the wealthy Saro businessman Peter.J.C Thomas. In 1933 she became the first West African woman to be called to the Bar. In 1942 she became the first woman Magistrate in West Africa. She was married to Richard Marke, Acting Chief Justice of Sierra Leone.
