On the 29th of August 1984, Mrs Victoria Mbakwe, wife of the former civilian Governor of Imo State, was jailed 128 years and 42 days by the Special Military tribunal in Enugu. she was found guilty of 8 of the 9 charges arising from her roles in the establishment of 'Lady Ahuikeghe Victoria Mbakwe' (LAVAM) children center in Owerri.
