Biafra Food Train: Named Ronkonkoma

Biafra Food Train: Named Ronkonkoma, this special train was used to bring relief materials collected from various parts of the United States for Biafran children suffering the effects of severe hunger and malnutrition during the Nigerian blockade. The food relief drive was organized by the United States Catholic Relief Services. Elsewhere, the Joint Church Aid, Holy Ghost Fathers of Ireland, Caritas International and Mark Press provided support and assistance. Location: Patchogue Station, Long Island, New York.
