The story of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ) in Africa began in Calabar, Nigeria, where on the 20th of September 1930, the first Holy Child Sisters arrived. Calabar is an urban city located in the South-eastern part of Nigeria in the Cross River State.
